Time away is good, but home is where it's at!

Oh man! Melanie, Tobin and I had such a good weekend and a great Father's Day! We spent a lot of time in the sun, hanging out at the pool, and with family all around. The weather was flawless, but our trip to the Milwaukee Zoo on Saturday afternoon was a tad warm. Not a single rain drop fell though. I got good rest and spent plenty of time away from the 'ol "9 ta 5'er"!! I even managed to document my journey along the way! So have a seat and take a peek...

Getting straight up OUTTIE!

I'm getting out of Dodge!!!! Finally, a stretch of days without a single shoot. No nothing, 'cept some rain grenades, sun, a pool, family, and good eats on the BBQ. Tomorrow is my 6th wedding anniversary!!! So, we head to the Milwaukee Zoo with Tobin. Then to B-Town and New Glarus, WI. Yeah, New Glarus beer! And yes, I lied... I'll have my camera in tow. Who knows what may come of it. It'll make for a nice update come Tuesday night!

LISTENS for the weekend: Matisyahu, Zao, The Pimps, deftones, and for sure...the mandatory TOOL.

One Love,
~dave

Yup, more updates..

So, first off. I'm stoked about my newly hired assistant Matt. He's so awesome. And so willing to learn, and not to mention a good photographer. Aside from the typical harassment from bands during the shoots, he keeps things in check!

Been shooting bands, some engagement pics, and not to mention the occasional Tobin.

Updates

Greetings peoples. I've been spending a ton of time working on the business end of my photography as of late. Promoting my work has been huge for me and very time consuming. Not to mention ironing out my new website. A sorta, re-invention of myself and my work in whole. I have taken the majority of my old work and tossed it into the trash, only to start over and build a new portfolio. I expect my new site to launch over at www.davidejackson.com in the next month. I have also moved my MySpace over to www.myspace.com/davidejackson.

I've been shooting so much lately. That, coupled with the business end (which accounts for 75% of being a photographer), is beginning to make my head spin. Luckily though, I'm leaving town without a camera for a few days soon. Oh, and I now have 5 weddings on the books! Can't wait!

Hope all is well in happyland!
